Michael Holmes, Ph.D.: POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Dr. Michael Holmes obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Windsor in 2015. His graduate work, performed in the laboratory of Dr. Sirinart Ananvoranich, focused on the study of developmentally regulated transcript-specific translational repression in Toxoplasma gondii bradyzoites. Mike joined the Sullivan lab in July, 2015 and is working on understanding how changes in translational control relate to the tachyzoite - bradyzoite interconversion process.

Leonardo da Silva Augusto, Ph.D.: POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Leo completed his Ph.D. in the laboratory of Dr. Sergio Schenkman (Federal University of Sao Paulo - UNIFESP), where he investigated mechanisms of translational control in Trypanosoma cruzi. He joined the Sullivan Lab July 2016 to study translational control in Toxoplasma.

Sandeep Srivastava, Ph.D.: POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
Dr. Sandeep Srivastava obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. His graduate work was performed in the laboratory of Professor Suman Kumar Dhar, focused on biochemical and functional analysis of Silent Information Regulator protein (SIR2) in Plasmodium falciparum. In 2014, he joined the laboratory of Professor Mark Featherstone at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore to investigate AP2 transcription factors in the malaria parasite. Dr. Srivastava joined the Sullivan lab in March 2017 and is analysing the function of AP2 transcription factors in Toxoplasma.

Jennifer Martynowicz: M.D./Ph.D. GRADUATE STUDENT
Jen joined the Sullivan Lab in July, 2016 and is investigating therapeutics that target translational control in Toxoplasma. Jen is co-sponsored by the Joseph and Lucille Madri Scholarship and is supported on the NIH Immunology and Infectious Disease Training Grant. Jen received her BS from Notre Dame prior to joining the MSTP program at IUSM.

Rashmita Basu: Ph.D. GRADUATE STUDENT
Rashmita joined the Sullivan Lab in May, 2019 and is investigating epitranscriptomics in Toxoplasma. Rashmita earned her M.S. in Biochemistry from University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India. Her master’s thesis focused on studying the biophysical properties of interaction of Human Serum Albumin with Ellagic acid, an anti-carcinogenic compound.
Jocelyne Hanquier: M.S. GRADUATE STUDENT
Jocelyne obtained her B.S. in Biology from Marian University in the spring of 2017. While at Marian, she investigated therapeutic properties of soil bacteria. Jocelyne joined the Sullivan Lab in the summer of 2017 and will start work on her MS degree this fall in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology. Jocelyne is studying chromatin reader proteins in Toxoplasma.
